1. Announcements
L. Fernandez introduced Fred Jandt, Interim Dean of the Palm Desert Campus, and Norton Marks, Interim Dean of the College of Business and Public Administration.
J. Delgado announced that CSUSB will have a booth at the HACU conference in Anaheim. Anyone who has something they’d like to showcase at the conference should contact either him or Deborah Buck to make arrangements to do so. Also, anyone who would like to donate “giveaways”
2. Agenda Items for Academic Affairs Retreat
Suggested items were:
1. How we want to see upcoming policy changes (particularly in regard to grants and contracts) be developed, especially in regards to grants and contracts
2. WASC (interim report)
3. Distance Learning/Academic Technology
4. Faculty Senate authorization of centers and institutes
5. GE package/outcomes assessment training
6. Reporting of faculty research priorities
7. Reporting of faculty development (fundraising) ideas
8. Faculty/student publishing opportunities
9. University climate for teaching, learning and research
10. Putting qualified administrators back in the classroom
11. Fundraising (President presentation with follow-up discussion within the group)
12. Enrollment management (department and program level)/advisement (roadmap)
13. NSSE/historical trends on this campus
14. Remediation
15. Budget
16. Honors Program
The final agenda will be developed through e-mail discussion over the next month.
